Tag you're it!

Hello Again Everyone!

Today I want to share a tag that I created for the
Stampotique Originals Designers Challenge "Tag it"

Stamps Used:

To create this tag, I started by stamping Daniel's heart background with clear embossing ink. I used White embossing powder and heat set it.  I inked over the entire tag and hearts with various blue distress inks.  (I believe Salty ocean and mermaid lagoon)

To add a little extra depth, I added a few flicks of water and allowed to dry. On a separate piece of card stock, I stamped the "brolly" with black Momento ink and colored it with a variety of alcohol markers in red and grey, then glued it on the card.

To finish everything off, I used a black distress crayon around the edges then blended it in well.  The quote was hand written by me with a black micron marker, then highlighted with a white gel pen.

(the ribbon was "stained" using Tim Holtz distress stains in brick red)

I hope you all enjoy this tag as much as I enjoyed making it, and I look forward to seeing your challenge inspiration.

Hop on in for Mail Art Monday...

Hello!

Welcome Back for another Mail Art Monday!

Stamps Used:
Creepy Rabbit by Tera Callihan
Hippitty Hoppitty

Today is an EXTRA fun piece for me because both of the stamps used on this piece are actually created by me!
(I hope you like them!)

To start, I used a piece of paper cut to 8.5in x 8.5 in
(which makes and A2 envelope when used with my envelope punch board)
I layered some Dylusions paints, Tim Holtz distress paint and Tim Holtz layering stencils to create my background.
(the colors I used were squeezed orange, pure sunshine, bubble gum pink, and white linen. I also used the Tim Holtz sponge dauber in picked raspberry and wild honey)

Next I added a few scraps of Tim Holtz tissue paper to add some visual interest.
After I got all of the background layers just right I stamped my bunny on the envelope and again on a separate piece of paper. I used a variety of markers to color him.

To glue him to the envelope I used Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium, which really made the colors even more intense!
(yes I used this on the bottom and top of the bunny so he would be safe going through the post)

Lastly,  to finish everything off I stamped "Hippitty Hoppitty" by my little bunny!
Sorry I forgot to take progress photos, but you know how it is when you really get into a project! you have too much fun!

I can't wait to get this little guy paired up with the perfect stamp and mailed out to his new home!
Happy crafting!

At home on Mail art Monday

Hello Again!

Today I am here to share some more fun and easy
Mail art Monday inspiration.

This piece is actually a special one for me, because I was challenged by a friend (freezeframe03) to use my large chevron stamp on an envelope in a new way...
So, I chose to go a sort of cart Journal-ish route...

Stamps used:

To start I stamped my writing chevron on a pre-painted piece of paper I had laying on my desk. I created a mask to mask of the chevron then stamped the numbers to create a sort of house like shape. To finish off the "house" shape, I stamped the equal sign as a door then used a pen to draw some scribble outlines. (Then I cut it out)

To create the Envelope base I began with a plain white A2 envelope. I stamped my doodle frame on the bottom to look like bushes. I used a scrap of cardstock to create a address block, then stamped the various staples.  I masked off my address block and doodle frames then used Tim Holtz Distress ink in salty ocean to add my base layer of color for the envelope.

(I did not glue the house down until the end)

I used various green markers to color in the "bushes", then re-masked everything off. I used more of the salty ocean ink to stamp the numbers in the background as well as a touch of cracked pistachio.
I also used punchinella waste as a stencil to ink layered dots to add extra depth to the background (using the same 2 colors as for the numbers).

So, there you have it...
Nice and Easy!

If you have a bigger envelope this would be great to add a few Alice in wonderland characters...
(Or anything really, the sky is the limit!)

Happy Stamping!
