The Mail Art Madness continues... Whovian and scientists!

Ok its Me Tera here with another Mail Art post!
(this is just totally telling on myself for being a total sci-fi geek!)
I meant to share this piece a while ago but keep forgetting, so here it is:

This 1st Envelope was made using my New Tim Holtz Laboratory stamp set that I received from my mom for my birthday, as well as a few odds and end stamps  (script stamps not sure who by, The words found & finding from 2 other TH stamp sets, and some #'s from G45 sets ) I also used some black tattered angels, washi tape (TH), and vintage photo distress ink :-D

(better picture)

Ok these 2 are both drawn by me for 2 different friends who are also Doctor Who Fans
(I really need to get these sent out to them!!)
This one still needs the highlights added yet, and the "TARDIS" you see on the left is actually the Phone Booth stamp that I drew up for Viva Las VegaStamps!! You can buy it HERE
they also have a Whole Doctor Who plate of stamps HERE
and lots more Whovian stamps!

I hope you all enjoy!!

Lost Coast Designs Monthly Challenge

Hello Again!!!

I thought I'd do a quick post to share a fun tag with you that I made for the Lost Coast Designs Monthly Challenge. The theme was Love so i used the awesome fortune teller stamp holding up the Heart/Love card :-D this stamp is just so fun!! (though not a lot of fun to fussy cut out... I hate to fussy cut... but do it for the sake of art!! lol)
How I did It:

the tag was cut from scrap Tim Holtz Paper (the 1st pad he came out with), I used a distressing tool to distress the edges of the tag, them I use Tim Holtz Walnut stain ink on a sponge to slightly darken the edges.
The number card behind the fortune teller was given to me, but I believe it is also by Tim Holtz (TH). Below the Fortune Teller is a die cut rectangle cut with nesting dies and distressed with antique linen TH Ink. I also added some scrap lace ribbon behind him. He was colored with TH Distress Markers. I used some tiny gems and glossy accents to really pull everything together and add more depth. Lastly I dyed the seam binding ribbon using 3 colors of distress stain: Vintage photo, weathered wood, and bundled sage

Here is a close up at an angle so you can see the layers :-D

Thank you for stopping in to have a peek :D

Viva Las VegaStamps Blast From the past!!!

Hi guys, It's me again here to share my fun blast the past stamp project for Viva Las VegaStamps with you!
This was such a fun challenge for me! and I hope it will inspire you!! I love that this stamp can be used in so many situations, from birthday cards, to girls night out, dog lovers, and just about anything!
For my project I thought I would do a piece on celebrate who you are and your own style!

Stamp used:

Shoe Dalmatian Dog 3 x 2 1/4

Start by inking your stamp in black ink, then carefully wipe the ink off of the shoes/spots that you would like to be a different color and stamp on card stock. Next clean off your stamp and color the shoes in with brick red distress marker and carefully line the stamp up over your already stamped image...
(it doesn't have to be perfect :-D ... if you would rather you could also mask the area off)

Next if you are like me and need to touch up your edging from wiping the ink off just fix it with a black marker

Next ink your desired embossing folder (or stencil) in your desired ink color. I used Brick red again then spritz the distress ink on the embossing folder with water. Carefully set the tag on the embossing folder and brayer it or gently rub it to be sure the whole tag touches to pick up enough color

this is something similar to what you should see after lifting straight up (I heat dried mine, but you can wait on it to dry naturally if you are more patient than me!)

Now comes the fin part sponging on ink!! I used Wild honey and Fired Brick on a make-up sponge

I made two so i could have options to which I liked best when finished and because it is so fun!

this is when you want to measure out a piece of cardstock about an 1/8 inch bigger to really make your colors pop.. it also fits and looks awesome as a card front for an A2 card!!! (set this piece to the side)

Next Create your desired quote with a Dymo maker if you have one
(or if not another stamp even!! goodness knows I love stamped quotes!!! hehe)

Next take your two ink pads and stamp them on your craft mat. spritz the ink with water again then rub your seam binding ribbon (or any that you have) around in the colors until you get the look you want adding more ink as you go. I also crinkle mine and heat dry it

make a pretty bow for the top of your tag and tie it on

next lay your pieces out and decide where you want your stamp to go. Stamp it in black ink then color it in solid black This helps add a nice finished look behind your image and a hint of a shadow

At this stage you are almost done!! add your pop dots, and staple down your quote! If you are pleased with the look attach your back with Miracle Tape and Enjoy!!!!
(here you can also see the nice shadow added by coloring the back black)

I Hope you enjoyed this tag inspiration!! I had so much fun making this piece and I know that I will have to use this Awesome stamp for some more super fun projects!!

Birthday card for VLVS

Hello again everyone!!
Today I am going to share this cute but simple card that I created for my cousin for her 13th Birthday! I know you wouldn't normally think Dragons for a girl, but Kenzi is extra awesome and sort of a tom-boy so I think she's like it, and this stamp is so adorable it can be used for boys or girls!!

Supplies Used:
VLVS:

Dragon on Egg 2 1/2 x 3

PanPastel in dark Blue
StazOn ink in Black
Adhesive
scissors
cardstock (black, green, White)
K &Co Adhesive Chipboard
Embossing folder (not sure of name)

To start, I took my roll of masking tape and traces two connecting circles to make the base of the card. then i trace 1 more circle that was separate.

after you cut your circles out (making sure you don't cut apart your connecting ones...see photo) fold your connecting circles in half. then fold the top part/circle of your card in half so that the circle touches the center fold line (this is the popped up part of your card)

next glue the extra circle to the bottom 1/2 of your folded circle on the front. Next take your PanPASTELS and color the edges

I then cut out a contrasting black circle which was slightly smaller and embossed it using an embossing folder that looked like dragon scales to me. After doing this I adhered it you the new front of the card

I stamped my dragon on white card stock, then colored using markers before cutting it out and gluing it to the front of the card

to finish everything off I added the chipboard stickers to help prop the card open and add a little extra visual interest

Below you can see it from a few different angles : )

Thank you all for visiting!!
Don't forget about the June challenge board!!!
