Nothing but Turquoise Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!!!

Today I want to share a card I made for the

Stampotique Designers Challenge- "Turquoise Only"

Stamps Used:
Barcode Text (Magical Moment)

I usually struggle with not stamping in black (although black and white are allowed to be used with this challenge).  Fortunately, I have several turquoise inks.  I started by getting out all of my inks out.

I began by stamping my images, with the darkest of them (using this as a substitute for black).
I stamped them on separate card stock, then used my scanNcut to cut out my images.

While my images were being cut I went to work on my background.  The background was made with Flat Magical powders (caribbean blue, and a dash of luscious lime).  You can also create a similar background with regular inks in the "smooshing" technique on your craft mat.  I used a heat tool to dry this layer.

I "water colored" my images with various inks, and glued them down.

then added texture paste through a stencil.  While the texture paste was still wet, I added glitter embossing powder.  I let this dry naturally. (when that I was dry, I embossed the glitter.)

To add glitter on other fun bits, I used my wink of stella clear pen.

The glitter doesn't photo quite as well as I would like, but I hope you get the idea.  It is way better in real life.

Love and Bugs

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I want to share a grungy style love card using Viva Las Vegastamps
This card was fun and easy to create.

Stamps Used:
Deathhead Moth
Double Coffee Rings

I started by stamping my background image in distress ink (aged mahogany).  I then added tea dye, rusty hinge, and brushed corduroy distress ink on top.

I stitched this layer to my black base. To add depth, I added the corrugated cardboard, and a scrap of burlap.

I chose the love sticker, because I wanted something bold.  I wanted this to pop and stand out.

I also stamped the coffee ring stamp on the background.

To finish everything off I added my death head moth, and some random black and white splatters.

I hope you all enjoy this simple card as much as I enjoyed making it. Thank you for visiting the blog today!
I hope you have a great week!!!

Art Journal page love

Hello Everyone!

Today I want to share a little art journal page.  I love how freeing it can be to art journal.

STAMPS USED:
Creepy Bald Guy
Creepy Ball Cap
Tape X
Row of Chevrons
Row of Numbers
Row of Distressed lines
Color Wheel lines
Tiny Arrow Heart

OTHER Products:
Tim Holtz -distress oxide, chit chat stickers
Glue
Wink of Stella
White paint pen
Markers
Dylusions stencil

This little page was based with distress oxide ink and a dylusions stencil.
(I love adding texture to backgrounds with stencils)

I started with a base image of my "bald creepy guy" and his "creepy ball cap". (which I had stamped on a separate piece of card stock).

Before gluing my guy and hat down I used my black distress crayon to add a base for him to pop off of... I love black shadow to pop images up.

I added all of my background journal stamping after my guy was glued down.
(You could go this before if you choose.)

To finish everything off I added one of my Tim Holtz chit chat stickers.

I hope you enjoy this little page.
Thank you for visiting!

ATC Coins

Hello Everyone!

Happy Independence Day if you are here in the USA

Today starts a new challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog...
The theme is "Artist Trading Coins"

These are all the rage right now!
(Make sure you check out and join the challenge!)

I have to admit they are super fun and addictive! I love that they still fit in baseball sleeves, but they are a tad different, so it re-starts the creative juices.  These are 2.5 in circles.  (I cheated and cut mine on my Brother Scan-n-Cut, but I know some people are using punches, or printing a template and tracing them.  However you choose to do it you should give it a try!! (I this some people are doing a variety of sizes too)

I love that you can use any medium on them, and they can be dimensional or not!
I of course am a distress ink addict, so that was my main medium... I also broke out several of my stencils! ;)
