I can't believe it's 2020 already!

(Y2K was only yesterday wasn't it?!)

Ok, since today is January 1st it's time to share a little inspiration with the 1st release of new stamps from Stampotique Originals for 2020!

Let's start of with an art journal spread... I love how Arthur looks to be sneaking out the back door... HAHA

(Veggie Boo may be in over her heels here, meanwhile I think someone else may be crushing on her... what do you think?)

Next, I want to share a special card using my new robot design!!!

(You know that's needed for every goon New Years party, Right?!)

Arthur can't wait on his guest to arrive!!

Last, but not least, I have been itching to try my hand at a Kassa style ATC, and this pretty new "Agatha Kitty" looked like she would be perfect! 

(I have actually colored her 4 different ways I loved her so much... shhh.. I'll have to share the others later... hehe!)

Anyhow, I can't completely get the viberant colors and textures like Kassa, but I had a ton of fun playing! (and that's what it's really all about!)

I may try a Milo style ATC next... 

(although not sure I can pull that one off even close...)

So... do you have a favorite of the new release stamps?
I don't know if I can decide, at first with was Agatha Kitty, but Arthur grew on me with his mischief...
now that I've colored them all and played with them I love them all too much to pick!

Did you make a new years resolution?

This year I'm not doing a resolution, but I will be daydreaming of getting our home paid off so that we can buy property in North Carolina some day.

Who doesn't love to day dream?

(Dreaming of building a home with a craft studio I can teach from keeps me extra energized and looking forward to 2020)

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy Humpday!
I hope you are having a wonderful week so far!

Today I want to share a super fun set of artist trading coins AKA ATCoins. 

If you are not familiar with ATCoins they a trading coins (a sturdy medium in the shape of a circle) that measure 2.5in across.

I started with 3 Circle base cut from cardstock on my brother scanNcut. 

I used a smashing technique with distress oxides on my craft mat to create my base background.

My images were all stamped in black memento ink, and colored with various alcohol based markers on a separate piece of card stock while my bases dried. 

Finally, when everything was dried, I cut and glued my main images onto the coins.

I used a black pen and white gelly roller to add extra detail.

I also used a glue pet to add a few dots of foil for added pop.

I hope you all enjoy these little coins!

Hello Everyone!

Happy Independence Day if you are here in the USA

Today starts a new challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog...
The theme is "Artist Trading Coins"

 These are all the rage right now!
(Make sure you check out and join the challenge!)

 I have to admit they are super fun and addictive! I love that they still fit in baseball sleeves, but they are a tad different, so it re-starts the creative juices.  These are 2.5 in circles.  (I cheated and cut mine on my Brother Scan-n-Cut, but I know some people are using punches, or printing a template and tracing them.  However you choose to do it you should give it a try!! (I this some people are doing a variety of sizes too)

I love that you can use any medium on them, and they can be dimensional or not! 

I of course am a distress ink addict, so that was my main medium... I also broke out several of my stencils! ;)

Some of you know I am!!!

In Honor of my love of coffee, I have decided to make a set of 3 ATC's.

Month of Master Board Projects

Ok, So lets get on with what you came for... 

Today, I am going to share how I made my master board for a TON of my projects for this month!

(6 pieces to be exact, The 1st one is pictured above... Also my project for this Word Up Weekend) 

Warning: This is photo heavy so grab a cup of something yummy and get ready to dive it! 

I love making master boards, they are so fun and always a great start for any project.  I love that you can use them to try new techniques, or just de-stress. 

(And, if you don't like any part... just cut it off!)

(Don't judge the scary looking process, I'm Messy but I love how my projects came out!)

To start I began with a 9x12 piece of watercolor paper. 

This is a home made stencil from one of my dies...

 (Note paper stencils are not the best with wet mediums... but this was an experiment so you get to see it all... Below are the magicals mixed with clear Gesso)

(I know scary right? Don't worry the process is scary but the final pieces come out perfect!)

Here are the 3 sprays I used on this. There are a few layers of spraying and drying with my heat tool

(Note I only use the blue to "finish off" the final card you see above...

Here you can see some of the awesome orange magicals... 

look at all those colors in just one powder!

Close up of some of the "hidden texture/text" I added with embossing powder...

It shines so beautiful in the light in real life! So hard to capture.. very pearlized and iridescent! 

Here you can see where I added some clear glossy gel medium 

(look how the colors activated around the edges... so fun!) 

More sprays and flat Magicals added to give dimension and help the numbers "pop"

(You can also see the journey collage stamp I stamped to add extra visual interest)

(SO... at this point I forgot to take a picture of the full piece before I cut it up... but below you will see all the fun bases I made from this one piece... Some may still look scary and unfinished.. but remember these are bases.. they will transform into beautiful finished pieces)

(the one I used for the example card not pictured...Yep not sure how I screwed up and missed it?)
