Postage People are taking over

 Hello Crafty Friends!!!
Sorry I've been away so long... I went through a bit of major creative block, but have slowly been getting my groove back.

If you're following me on Instagram or on my personal Facebook I'm sure you've seen my feed being taken over by postage people. I'm having so much fun with them!!! This last week I've been working on a lot of postcards, and the week or two before that I made a few more dimensional pieces.

I have some plans for a few more layered ones, but my sewing machine broke... now to see if I can find a repair place still in existence 🤔

Anyway, hope you enjoy this postage people overload as much as I've enjoy creating them!!

Now on to postcards...

I hope you all have found some crafty mojo too!

Quick and Easy

Hello Crafty Friends!

I cant believe how quickly this year has passed!

Today I want to share a cute and simple cat card I made for a friend whom is a fellow cat lady.

Stamp Used:

Do you ever feel like you struggle to make a quick and simple card when you need?
Me too!

Fear not, this stamp really does all of the work for you!

I started by stamping my tuxedo cat stamp on white card stock with black memento ink.
To color my image, I used a variety of alcohol based markers.
(Blick, Copic, and Spectrum Noir)

I chose to do a double mat to give more visual interest.

I hope this gives you some ideas for a quick and easy card!
I love that this stamp can be used for any occasion, and who doesn't love cats?!

Happy New Year!!!Stay crafty my friends

Monocle Mail Art Monday

Hello Again Crafty Friends!

Happy Labor Day to all of you in the USA or just anyone wanting to celebrate!

Today, I will be sharing one of my favorite things...
Yep, Mail Art!!!

( And not just Mail Art... but Halloween Mail Art!)

Stamps used:
Monocle cat and pumpkin
Typeset scallop
Stitching
Stars

Starting with an A2 Envelope I stamped my "monocle cat" in archival - jet black ink. However if you are going to color with alcohol base markers like I am you may want to use Memento for this. My Memento needs refilled and I wanted the cat to be very crisp which is why I was okay with a little bit of smearing of my colors.

With the leftover ink I stamps the cat a second time on scrap paper to create a mask. I cut the cat out and masked him off.

Next using memento ink I stamped my scallop along the edge.

(And of course many of you know this is one of my favorites so it would have to be a prominent stamp on this envelope.

Next remove the mask from the cat and shows to color at the border and Cat with various alcohol-based markers. I wanted to see how they look before picking out my background color. Following traditional Halloween colors..  I went with of course: purples, oranges, yellows, and greens.

With my main images colored I am ready to create the background. I re masked off the cat and scallops.

The background was Inked with distress oxide in mustard seed and ripe persimmon. While everything is still masked off, I added my star details to the background (also using ripe persimmon distress oxide ink).

Of course the fun part is always removing the masks and seeing all your colors pop together.

Now for the finishing touches...
I added a Avery address label, used a black marker to trace the inner Edge oh, then finished everything off with my stitching stamp.

Thank you for visiting!

Wednesday in Wonderland

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy Humpday!
I hope you are having a wonderful week so far!

Today I want to share a super fun set of artist trading coins AKA ATCoins.

If you are not familiar with ATCoins they a trading coins (a sturdy medium in the shape of a circle) that measure 2.5in across.

Stamps Used:

I started with 3 Circle base cut from cardstock on my brother scanNcut.
I used a smashing technique with distress oxides on my craft mat to create my base background.

My images were all stamped in black memento ink, and colored with various alcohol based markers on a separate piece of card stock while my bases dried.

Finally, when everything was dried, I cut and glued my main images onto the coins.
I used a black pen and white gelly roller to add extra detail.

I also used a glue pet to add a few dots of foil for added pop.
I hope you all enjoy these little coins!

Have you made any yet?

Black White and Pop of Color #2

Hello Everyone!

Today I decided to play along with week 2 of the Stampotique designers challenge. The theme is black and white with a pop of color.

As I stated last week, I love the black and white theme!

Stampotique Stamps Used:

I have so many friends with birthdays coming up, so whats better than making a birthday card?
(Something I'm always in need of!)

This card pretty much fell together with ease. I love Buru, so this piece was created around him. :) Below you can see the steps I took to create this piece.

(The hat was fussy cut and glued on. Also I used black ink to distress the edges)

I also used the Tim Holtz stamp press to stamp the Happy Birthday with distress oxide ink.

I hope you all enjoy this card as much as Me!

Cats + Numbers = Party!

Hello Again!

I'm here with another fun tag project for Lost Coast Designs
This time I want to share my tag that I made for the June numbers challenge over on our "Portal to creativity" challenge blog! The link is in the side bar  (If you haven't been there yet you really need to Hop on Over and check it out!!! There are some awesome prizes, challenges, and inspiration!!)

Start with a #8 tag (or what ever the XL-large tag size is lol) Paint or ink it yellow and pink (I used distress stains). Allow to dry.
On a separate piece of paper stamp your kitty HERE in black ink and your party hat HERE in Black ink and i did the 2nd one in Kaleidacolor "Caribbean Sea" but and blue/ green would be good :D  I then used the same blue greens to sponge color the party hat and kitty (i used a make-up sponge). For the second har i used my pink stain. I cut them all out then set them aside.

Back to the background... I used 3 stencils from TCW, 2 were grungy looking ones and one was clocks... I added numbers and circles using the black and pink dylusions paints and I added a few more circles with some blue paint to pull things together.

Last I glued my little kitty and hats on and there you have it one fun ready to party tag!!

Thank you Again for joining me in sharing this fun inspiration and don't forget to check out the new challenge on July 1st!!!

What's Up Doc?

Hello again!!!

OK many of you may know I need to get better at blogging. ..
I post to instagram which shares to Facebook and flickr but rarely do i did time to sit down and blog.

It's hard in this on the go world to find time to sit at the computer.

So what's been happening?  I'm currently on a small break from school (which ends Monday :-/ ) so I'm working on getting caught up with life. I'm in the process of moving my craft room and reorganizing so that I can hopefully get better function and use our of my space and become more productive and less stressed.  I'm also working on catching up on my swaps (then no more swapping for me... only crafting for fun to take the stress out of it) .  I sent out a huge pile of owed mail today and hopefully more will go out this week :)

I've been working on a few "Pocket letters" If you haven't heard of this I highly recommend looking it up on YouTube... Loving the Idea of it!!
Here is one that's ALMOST finished... I want to add a qoute to the top right I think, then not sure what else... Then it needs filled with a letter and a few goodies maybe :D

I've also been trying to get all my running done and spending some time with family when I can. Overall things are good :) busy... but that's life!

My fur babies also say hello!!
Here is my "Ollie-Fur" enjoying the window spaces in my new craft room
