Celebrate Mail Art Monday

Hello,
Welcome Back for another Mail Art Monday!

Today I wanted to share a birthday themed Postcard that I made for a friend.

Stamps Used:

To start, I used a piece of paper that I had already painted with some Dylusions paints, and a stencil.

Next, I stamped the set of birthday kids, and colored them with a variety of zig clean color markers.

After these were colored, I decided to add some more texture to the background with white Dylusions paints and a homemade stencil (I used a die cut to make it).

On a separate piece of paper I stamped my sentiment. I also decided the background needed just a touch more stamping...

Once I felt everything looked just like I had hoped I glued my sentiment on and glued my postcard to a sturdy piece of black card stock. I also hand drew some stitching around the edges.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy this Mail Art Monday inspiration.

Banksy Takes over the post Again!

Hello Again!
Welcome back to another Mail Art Monday!

Today I want to share the Envelopes I made for the VLVS Banksy Mail Art swap on the
(I hope some of you joined in!)

To start I created a pair of A2 sized envelopes using my Envelope punch board and some blue watercolor looking scrapbook paper.

Next I stamped all 3 of my Banksy stamps in black Stazon ink. (stamps listed below)

I masked off my address block, with an business card that I often use as a mask.
(Hence the ink all already all over it...lol)
I traced around this with a black Micron pen.

Now to enhance the blue color, I used Distress inks in salty ocean and tumbled glass.
The stencil I used was by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous (THMS055)

Next, I added a few flicks of picket fence and black soot distress stains.
After I removed the mask I added a few doodles around the inside of the address lock with my white gel pen and a black Micron.

I hope you all enjoy these fun envelopes, and I hope you feel inspired to get inky!

Love Bugs

Hello Again Everyone!

Today I want to share a card that I created for the Stampotique Originals Designers Challenge
 "Love Bugs"

Ok, so this theme started off as a bit of a challenge for me, but I "love" how it came together...

Anyhow, for this piece I began by stamping Daniel's hearts in black ink, then used red ink to cover the card base...
(yes my fingers were red after this step so, be careful coloring your character... lol.  I used a baby wipe before moving on.)

Next, on a separate piece of card stock I stamped Newton and Mervyn.  I stamped mine in archival black because I knew I wanted to use alcohol based markers to color them.  I would recommend coloring them before cutting them out, as I also did this backwards, but then you have more to hold onto while coloring.

I then added Mervyn's head to Newton's body. On a scrap piece of cardstock I drew a heart for my little guy to hold and stamped out the barcode text so that I could add "handle with care" to my little heart. I used glossy accents to glue it all together and that was it. Nice and simple!

For the finishing touch I drew my little bee and colored him with gel pens.
(i wish I had the Stampotique Bee that Jo has drawn, but it's still in my wish list...)

I hope you all enjoy this little card and feel inspired to play along!
Hope you had a Happy Valentines Day!
(I hope you also got to enjoy some candy!)
