Fragile Creatures

Hello crafty friends!

Today's my Wednesday to share a little inspiration for the new
Stampotique Originals designers challenge
The theme is "Birds and bees"

I decided to create two different cards that both Incorporated birds and bees.

STAMPS USES:

I hope you enjoy this take on the challenge, you can see my process below. I did end up changing final colors for my main character by stamping her again  and hand cutting her out... for the white based card I basically follow the same technique without coloring the background.

I started by stamping out of the bees oh, then masking them off. Next I stamped my border Oodles of doodles. Then my main image was stamped.

As you can see above I have my main image and the bees masked off so that I can apply background color on top of everything else. I used various distress inks and oxides for this.

Here you can see where I have a little more color layed down with the masks still in place.

This is the view when I removed the masks.

This was after I finished all of my coloring , but I decided it was too monochromatic. I wanted more variation, so I stamped her out again. (as you can see in the pictures above.)
I hope you've enjoyed this little card project.

She was...

Hello crafty friends!

I hope you are all having a wonderful week! Today I want to share a fun art journal page using some of my favorite Viva Las VegaStamps.
(If you follow my blog, you know I love my art journal stamps)

Stamps Used:

I started with a blank page that was 8.5 x 5.5in.

I created my base with distress oxide- mustard seed, and picked raspberry. I also added a few flicks with the distress oxide spray.

I also used my distress oxide picked raspberry to stamp my background details.

My focus pieces were stamped with Black soot distress oxide ink.

On a separate page, I stamped my 2 sentiment stamps and I cut them out. To add extra depth I matted the cut out bits.

I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I do.

Use cardboard challenge

Hello stampers!!

It's Wednesday, so you know what that means?! Time for some weekly inspiration for the Stampotique Originals challenge...
This piece is for week 2 of the "use cardboard" challenge.

Stamps used:

I started with an A2 card base, a piece of cardboard from when you order postage stamps, and a piece of corrugated cardboard that I pealed some of the top coating off of, to reveal the corrugated goodness... I used some wendy vecchi cracking paste for added details. I also used some distress inks in vintage photo for added depth. I used black memento ink to stamp my sentiment.

On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped my boys.  I colored them with blick alchohol markers.

Finally, I used distress collage medium to glue everything together.

Thank you for visiting,
I hope you join us!!

Full of snark and sass...

Hello my crazy crafty friends...

Today is a bit of a different post for me.  This is going to be cram-packed with pictures... you may want to grab a drink and sit down for a this.

So all of these cards and envelopes stemmed for my post I post on Facebook about one sarcastic card in envelope I had made. I basically posted a random open question as who would not get offended if I sent them something really crazy and off the wall.

(This is the pictures posted on the original Facebook post... the other 2 got homes before I decided to take good pictures)

I did not expect to get nearly as many responses as I did oh, I ended up getting over 35 people saying that they wanted something crazy and sarcastic from me. Hence the psycho project where I decided I would try to make a piece for everyone.

My Postman is probably going to kill me as I'm going to fill up the mailbox with these... hopefully the envelopes will still give him a good laugh or smile.

Okay so let's get on with it I'm going to make the pictures really large so that you will be able to see the words on the quote stickers. Most of these are from the Tim Holtz snarky stickers.

If you want information on any of the rubber stamps or products I used just leave me a comment and I will happily respond.
 Now for photo overload...

Ok, if you've made it this far, I hope you've had a good laugh at a few of these!! These are some of the most fun I had had in a while. I love trying to match up the characters with the perfect quotes and sayings. I may continue this series ...

Now I have to get all of these addressed and sent to their homes. I'm going to just randomly write on each envelope and card. I will probably this just shuffle them up and go down the list of names and addresses I have and start labeling them. A few have already gone out to homes before this post but the rest are part of the official project.

Have a great day!!
