Hello Again Crafty Friends!!
This week I am the host over on the frilly and funkie challenge blog!
The theme I chose was Snarky, silly, and sassy summer fun!
I hope you will hop over to check out all the inspiration from my other team mates, as well as join us!
(you know there is a chance to win a $25 gift card to The Funkie Junkie Boutique!!)
Ok, for my piece I chose to combine 2 of my favorite things, Snark and grunge!
I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I do!
I started by creating my background using a variety of distress oxide spray stains as well as regular antique linen spray stain. I then used various stamps from the 3 sets you see above. (I love these so much! they get a lot of use!!)
I created the next layer using the new Tim Holtz stencil cards, an ideology layers "collector", and more spray stains
I just love this grungy goodness!
For my sassy gal, I chose a paper doll, and wings. I painted her using the distress embossing glaze.
Can you tell how much I love these wings (I think this makes 3 post in a row with them...I seriously tried not to, but they were just so perfect!
Of course I had to finish the whole thing off with a sassy quote!
I chose to use one from Dyan's "full blown circus" set. It was a tough decision on which to use they are all so good!
If you made it this far, thank you for visiting!!
Let me know which quote you like best from that set and your thoughts.
Have an awesome week!!
Happy creating!

A great process post, Tera. I’m studying everything you did. I love the looks of that background. Cool color choices and such. Love the alpha/numbers cutout die. I have one similar (but not the same) that I like using in a variety of torn up ways. The look on her face and the snarky quote is precious. So many of those quotes are fun. On the serious side I can totally relate to age doesn’t bother me, it’s the side effects. That one is too true to be considered snarky. HA! Maybe being out of sugar coating might explain me too many times. I love seeing a blog post from you.
ReplyDeleteThat layered piece on the tag is so eye-catching and her expression is perfect with the sentiment you selected! Beautiful tag!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love all of the cool tones of this card. The stamping is superb and the layers of texture is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteSo well done, Tera! I love this challenge; it's right up my alley these days! As for your make, it is so cool from the colors to the little snarky girl with her beautiful wings. I swear I didn't steal that from you! I usually try not to look at the inspiration until I'm done so I'm not influenced. Let's just say two great minds think alike. Just wish I had your mixed media superpowers!
