Best Day Ever

 Hello Again Crafty Friends!!!

It's that time again!!! Today starts the new challenge with the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Join us over on the frilly and funkie challenge blog HERE.

The new challenge is called "HOT HOT HOT"...

some places are getting up to those triple digits, and we want you to work in 3's.

(use 3 of an item, 3 colors, etc.)

For my card, I used 3 layers, 3 flowers, and 3 of each type of leaf.

I started by cutting out all of my flower and leaf pieces from some of my Tim Holtz Kraft core cardstock. I then lightly sanded all of the pieces to expose some of the core for a more distressed look.

I used distress collage medium to glue everything together then used various distress inks and oxides to add extra color. (I did add walnut stain distress ink to all of the edges before assembling)

The background paper I added was also from the Tim Holtz backdrops. I used walnut stain distress ink around the edges then added some white stitching.

(detail of the flower layers)

I used kraft heavy cardstock for my card base, and the Tim Holtz black kraft core paper for my 2nd layer. (lightly sanded of course)

Next, I added some crackle paste in 3 different areas.

Once, it dried I used the walnut stain distress crayon to add detail and grunge to all the cracks, as well as along the stitching.

To finish the card off I added the "Best Day Ever" quote sticker over a scrap of gold, then mounted with pop dots.

Thank you for visiting!
I hope you enjoyed this card.

  1. This card is so pretty. I love the worn edges look. It adds to a vintage look. I love where you placed the sentiment...under the date of May 20. So clever of you! I also love the detail of stitching around the edge. Again, it adds to a vintage look.

    1. Also the may 20th was a happy accident! I didn't even notice 🤣

  2. Beautiful! The flower is so lovely in its color composition and background setting!

  3. Your flower arrangement is stunning! What a gorgeous vintage card with details I adore: stitching (when someone else does it!:)) and crackle.

  4. Wonderful card! The brushstroke flowers are great, defined one of my favourite TH floral dies. So many great details!

  5. I love these very distressed layers and this gorgeous muted color palette.

  6. So much to love with your beautifully distressed layering and gorgeous blossom!!

Thanks for your comments, I love hearing from you!!
