Something Unusual...

Hello my crafty friends.

I hope you are all doing well.  The weather is starting to get chilly and it definitely feels like fall. (Which I'm loving since it's my favorite season!

I've started to break out the boots, long sleeves and pumpkin spice candles...
ok, so yes I burn fall candles all year round and wear my boots anytime I can, but now its acceptable.

Anyway into crafting...
Today  want to share an "unusual" card for week one of the
Stampotique Originals designers challenge "unusual cards".

This is such a fun challenge... I was going to create a Halloween card in the shape of a coffin at first, but then I thought I would make my friend Mike's birthday card.

After a bit of thought and idea hunting on pinterest I landed on the "star effect" easel card. I thought it would be fun to try something new.  (And I'm glad I did, I love this. My husband even said it's a favorite of the ones I've created).

I followed the tutorial from HERE

I started with a 6.5in×6.5in piece of cardstock and a 6×6 piece of scrapbook paper for my base.

(I basically scored the paper at 3.25 in then cut on the diagonal)

You can see the layers below, but what you can't see is the awesome "action wobble" so when you flick the happy birthday the wobbles and skates... I tried to  capture it in a short video.

Thank you for visiting!!

  1. That really is so cute! Don’t we love to interact with our gifts. This easily will be the best card Mike gets with it’s fun shape and wiggly birthday greeting, I’d be playing with it everytime I walked by it.
