Time for Tags

Hello Again Craft Friends!!

It's that time again!

Today starts a new challenge on the "Frilly and Funkie" challenge blog.

The new theme is "tag it"

I chose to create a few fun Christmas tags.

Below I have a little close up detail.

I started with the old Tim Holtz Sizzix Bigz die- Tree Rings, mini (664232)

Then I stamped the moose from the- "Into The Woods" stamp set in black archival ink.

Next, I ran the base pieces through the embossing folder that came with the die.

To get the wood look I used Walnut stain Distress ink, and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink.

I added flicks of water to give it a little extra grunge.

To finish everything, I used some of the Tim Holtz Stickers, and some eyelets.

I dyed the silk binding ribbon with a mix of Distress inks-Vintage photo, Walnut Stain, Fired Brick, Candied Apple

Supplies Used:
Distress inks-Vintage photo, Walnut Stain, Fired Brick, Candied Apple
Distress Oxide- Vintage Photo
Sizzix Bigz Die- 664232 Tree Rings, Mini
Tim Holtz - small talk -Occasions Stickers
Eyelets

  1. Your tags look so great! I love the moose stamped on the tree rings die set. And the ribbon looks awesome. I’m looking for a tutorial on dying the ribbon...did you just use the stamp pads or maybe you used the reinkers???

    1. I just smoothed the stamp pads on my nonstick mat then sprayed with water.. I scrunch it in a ball and roll it all around in the ink... then sometimes stamp the ink pad right on the scrunched ribbon. Rinker would probably be faster/bolder color. You could also use stains. Usually my fingers are died too! Then I heat dry it all scrunched up to keep it crinkly

    2. Oh! Thanks! Now I’ve got to pin this post so I can find easy for my next ribbon ties. I have to see what my daughter and I have that I can make some similar tags with. I really like these.

    1. Thanks, yes I got it on ebay I think. It's a very old one. I would love to find the large ring, but haven't yet.
